7 intrepid walkers ignored all weather forecasts and the rain at the Sands to make the short trip to Castle Carrock and where joined by a further 4 walkers at Castle Carrock where as upon parking cars and wet weather gear was put on and then promptly taken off (this being the general theme of the day scattered showers with outbreaks of sunshine).

Progress was made through the fields to Middle Gelt for a short tea break and onto Greenwell, despite the recent inclement weather the lanes and fields were not as waterlogged or muddy as expected and the only really heavy shower was at lunchtime by which point the pub was open and the landlady was quite accommodating allowing the group to eat their sandwiches in the comfort of the pub surroundings.

After lunch the loop round the reservoir was made where the only excitement was avoiding a rather frisky and upset Bull so we had to retrace our steps and the group then showed their assault course skills but diving over/ under barbed wire, I think the Army would have been proud of us 🙂

Once back at the cars it was off to Hayton Farm Shop for refreshments, a lovely day and thanks to all who braved the weather (and livestock) for coming.
