Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club
Walk & Event Reports
An amazing serenade from Elvis on the steps of Gracelands got our walk off to a sensational start. Except for a couple of minutes of drizzle and a cool breeze the weather was perfect for moorland walking. Unfortunately -our planned coffee stop table had a prior occupant – a Coast to Coast cyclist, but he very kindly shared his grapes with us – so all was forgiven. A cosy lunch was enjoyed in the sheepfold just short of our summit.
We made exceptionally good time and managed to get the bus back to Alston in time for drinks in the Alston Arms.
Thankyou to everyone who joined us on a ramble rarely walked -but definitely worthy of a future place on the walks programme.
