Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

Only six walkers on the A walk today, a small but select group that tackled the roller coaster skyline above the famous Devil’s Beeftub and a little further beyond.

Whether fortified by Irn-Bru or the magical properties of the Hart Fell spa waters good time was made on a tough walk of just over 11 miles and a considerable amount of ups and downs. Some unfamiliar territory for all of us as we tackled Whitehope Knows, The Gyle and then finally the long and very steep climb to the top of Hart Fell. The weather was very kind with 360 degree views of more unfamiliar hills from the windy summit. A special mention to club newcomer Neil. Hopefully it won’t be his last outing with the club. The long road and then riverside walk into Moffatt was rewarded with refreshments in the Rumblin’ Tum café.

Thanks to all my fellow A walkers.
