Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club
Walk & Event Reports
13 intrepid walkers turned up for my first time as a leader. The Penrith Mountain Rescue team had set up a pop up cafe at Mardale Head so we were able to enjoy a bacon butty before we set of on the walk. The weather was nice and sunny and we were soon going up the steep path to Kidsty Howes where we had a banana break and we were able to see the herd of deer running across the fell. It was then onwards and upwards to Kidsty Pike and Rampsgill Head, where it was a bit breezy, with lunch taken before we reached High Raise. Then it was down to low raise where we then went off piste down to Lady's Seat and back to Haweswater and tea and cake from the Montain Rescue pop up cafe. Thank you every one who joined me on my first walk as leader and making it a very enjoyable father's day walk.
