Good to see new younger club members out today with us older ones taking a chance on the unpredictable weather - which thankfully turned out to be excellent , dry, bright , and good visibility - admittedly there was a fresh cold wind but we all considered how lucky we were given previous months crap. The only hiccup was when the leader initially failed to locate the turn off the forest track up into the woods to start the climb up Hobcarton - however with 14 opinions quickly leading to the correct decision off we set. Needless to say younger legs led the way but not to worry as we all met on Grisedale for a quick snack. Next up was Hopegill where we decided lunch would be better taken out of the wind if shelter could be had on Ladyside. The descent off Hopegill was a bit tricky over the exposed bedrock but as it was dry and with care we all made it without mishap. Lunch was taken before the full descent and the road walk back to the start. Refreshments were enjoyed in the Craggs on the way home
Many thanks to you all for turning out
David
