Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

13 members on the walk today. Negotiated the road closures without any issues to kick off the walk from Jockey Shield. A relatively flat walk with a few ups and downs but even so a tough 10 miles with it being boggy in places. We found an adder to look at without any problem and if this was your first sighting of this not often seen creature I hope you took something away from doing so. Lunch taken at the RSBP cottage before completing the circuit. Lap Wing, Curlew and a few other birds about along with a solitary Roe Deer. Back end of the walk was done in a constant drizzle so everyone was a bit wet by the time we got back to the cars. Thanks to all who came out see you next time.
