Starting off from Cow Bridge Car Park it was a gentle walk through the woods before the steady upward climb to the highest point Hart Crag. Unfortunately the clouds that were swirling around the higher levels did not lift but we got some good views before ascending into the misty regions on the top. Finding a sheltered spot we stopped for lunch before continuing onwards towards Dove Crag. Misty conditions made navigation tricky and gave us a reminder just how difficult these conditions can prove to be and must be treated with respect. However it wasn’t long before the path became clear and we were out of the mist again and enjoying some fine views with intermittent sunshine. On reaching the cars again we then headed to Helvelyn Country Kitchen in Glenridding for some very welcome refreshments. Fab day with excellent company and chat hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you all for coming along and making it such a great day.
