A gloriously sunny day for this walk, some might say spring had actually finally sprung 😊

10 of us set off from the Sands and were met by 3 more at Allen Banks NT car park, this included a new member, Gwenneth.

The B Walkers got a treat today they got 3 walk leaders for the price of 1, due to flood damage Frank led the first stage of the walk up through the woods to the Gazebo with fantastic views out over the valley and after coming down the 'official' walk leader led the group up to the Peel tower where lunch was taken.

At this point it was time for a walk leader meeting and they agreed to a slight adjustment to the walk due to the fact we had seen enough mud to last a lifetime and no one in their right mind wanted to see anymore, therefore after lunch the previous walk leaders were joined by Ian who assisted the 'official' walk leader with navigation back to the car park which involved a bit more road walking then previously anticipated. all this road walking led to a last minute change as some walkers felt they needed to get their boots muddy again and whilst some followed the road back to the car park the others led by Frank/ Ian set off for the  woods and walked back alongside the river.

Once back at the cars we set off for the Starbucks café on the A69 for refreshments, thanks to all that came along and hopefully we will see Gwenneth again I assure you not all club walks are that muddy.
