Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

I set off from the suspension bridge climbing up the Kirk Wynd and on past the empty golf course and on up to the monument stopping to admire the views when necessary. Then I followed the faint track down to the gate before turning right along the track to the Castle Craigs. All the paths and tracks are incredibly dry just now especially this one which is normally water-logged and boggy in places. I  admired the moorland views in the distance and remembered the walk I led there on 4th March, not that long ago. Then I headed back down to Langholm by the Birnie Braes and the edge of the golf course. I met one other person and some sheep and heard sky larks and meadow pipits.
