5 of us set off from the Sands and were met at Brampton by a 6th member, we set off in the direction of Brampton Old Church and upon arrival we had a look around the graveyard at some of the interesting occupations of some of the 'residents' we then made brisk pace across the fields were upon arrival at Sandysike we chatted to the farmer about mole catching and whatever happened to the sheep spotted on the reccee which didn't look to healthy at the time - it had subsequently died and apparently it costs £6 to catch a mole!!
After this we made our way to Abbey Bridge for lunch by the river, after lunch we made our way through the woods which was eventful due to the recent bad weather having brought some trees down which needed negotiated we then arrived back at the main road to pick up the bridleway to take us on to Brampton Ridge - at which point I could proclaim that 'I could see me house from here!' and actually mean it!!
After arrival back in Brampton we made our way to Hayton Farm Shop for coffee and cake/scones.
Thanks to all that came along and for the weather being uncharacteristically dry with even an appearance of that ball of light in the sky known as the Sun which made this a pleasant walk.
